i was wondering if in addition to the views/ downloads count, there would be a way to see how many times an image is actually copied, taken, or whatever. it's something i'd be interested in seeing, and i'm wondering if anyone else is as well.

that's the download count .. the site only knows if the image was viewed FULLSIZE (download) .. it doesn't know if it was saved .. or, in my case, printed and used to line the parakeet cage

the 'view' tally just means the image info\comment page was viewed from the thumbnail in its respective gallery .. new images, etc

...or, in my case, printed on a pack of Kleenex tissues

Whoa! ... don't be too quick in knocking "printed on a pack of Kleenex". With a good lawyer I bet you could make a nice bit of change.

rob .. that was the point I was trying to make .. no, the site doesn't know\can't tell if the image was saved .. just that it was requested to be sent ...

it now exists in my hardrive cache and saving it is a function of my browser and mouse .. the caedes server is not involved in that process

No it can't. That's what Keifer is trying to say, there's no way for any site to know if you right clicked on the image and saved it any more for it to know what music you might have been playing in media player when you did it.

ok, thanks sam. i wasnt asking if the site already did that, but if it could be made to. sorry if i came across as obtuse, keifer. just didnt seem that the question was matching the answer.
