I get the link to my picture and i put it in as my background on my website, i go to my site and it says the image that was supossed to be here is from caedes.net, does anyone know why it won't work?

Bascally directly linking to the Caedes server is bandwidth theft - that's why it's not working. The full explanation is mentioned in my above link

You can ask the author's permission to put it on an alternate hosting site and then link to it from there - most artists will happily allow you to do so =)

Not really =) The Caedes server protects itself from bandwidth stealing in the first place - that's why the background wasn't working on your site

Please be aware that you can't use the image as a background for your website unless you've gotten the artist's permission 1st. All images here are the copyrighted property of the individual artist. 8•)

Another question. Can that get you in trouble, other than a message from caedes saying TAKE IT DOWN!? Lets say the person doesnt take down the copyrighted image from their site...uh, what does caedes do? Call the cops? The chihuahas? ..or is this under the kindness of your heart, sort of thing.

It is really only up to the owner of the image. They have the option of filing suit against you if they really want to. They could also send a DMCA takedown notice to myspace and myspace would be forced to remove the image or your whole page (their choice).
