I'm a graphic designer and I can tell you that dotted lines can be achieved using Adobe Illustrator or some other related drawing program then brought into Photoshop. In Illustrator you can have any size, shape, or length of a dash and the same for the gaps in between. If you want more advice I'll give it to you - englund

I'm not a graphic designer, but I can also tell you that any drawing program should be able to do that. I'd probably use AutoCad since that's what I have installed right now.

you have to know how to edit the brushes, particularly the spacing... it can be fairly complex.

Anyone who knows a good tutorial how to do the job?

That's why you do it in a drawing program. PS is not a drawing program. Sure you can drive nails with a wooden stick, but a hammer is much better.

So if u dont use PS to draw...what programs do you start off from scratch with? (other than 3D modeling ones ie: FormZ, 3D studio Max etc...)

Note that there is a difference between a 'drawing program' and a 'paint program'. Paint means raster graphics while draw is vector. While PS does have some features of a drawing program, it is primarily a paint program.
