Inspired by the great word games, and riddles...How about a home grown, Caedes, Mystery Thriller...The story unfolds... Not long ago a train departed a lonely station, at the end of the platform lay a parcel. Wrapped in newspaper and string, it gave nothing away of its' contents. All alone - and with the night mist falling fast, I slowly walked towards it. Carefully picking it up, I noticed how surprisingly heavy it was, this was a parcel wrapped with the utmost care - but there was no name, no address! Undeterred, though strangely curious I carried it back to my car when suddenly...

...what happens if I remove the collar, and wear it around my neck - this could have been done earlier - but a hot taxi ride with a smelly dog - doesn't happen every day. The dog ran off and jumped out the open window.....wait a minute!....ran off? Why did he do that? Oh well, will I EVER get OUT of this room? Just then...

He started belting on the door and yelling for help, just then the dog jumped back in through the big open window! Maybe he could find a way out of this room!!!!

Suddenly, I had a flash of brilliance! I grabbed the shortwave radio and the telephone. Maybe I could use the parts from them, wired together with the transmitter from the collar, to form some sort of beacon to signal for help! With the help of the secret agent we soon formed a crude device with a flashing light, emmiting the "SOS" signal, and pitched it out the window. Surely our salvation was only a short time away now!

A goal that is somewhere in my vast mind a mind that conceives the great things that I have done in my fantasies.
But how can I achieve these goals? If I don’t stop taking these darn 16 hour naps. I guess I will have to sleep on it and let the dreams take me to the place in Caedes that has the Answers. I will go to the great Icon of Caedes all will be made clear there. I will ask the great question how did I come to be in this Place and why cant I escape it’s powers?
But first I must get through these darn clouds of confusion in my dreams. I must

I was able to completely clear my thoughts once again...I too could - with mental telepathy - enter the Caedes. I walk down a long corridor - then I run (as I was good at running) the corridor gets longer, more doors....faster...then I stop. I turn and face a door, with the number 42 on it - I turn the handle... in the room is MI5 dog..."Sit down Sameo - I've been expecting you..", OK.... After sitting down MI5 dog - (now talking to me himself not through a collar, which originally lulled me into a false sense of reality). "Who do you think made all this?" - I have no idea I thought to myself - But being in an unreal - telepathic world he reads my thoughts. "Sameo - I designed all this - I am the Architect"
OOOOOooohhh....that's impressive I thought. "Yes, yes it is...."said Mi5 dog... "I have to tell you something Sameo...."

"You Think!!!???!!!"...it took all my strength to resist the urge to start slapping back.

Before I set off however, I decided to review what I knew and the questions thus posed.

Why would a metal box be left at a train station?
How and why had it attracted my attention?
Despite all the (mis)adventures, the box and its contents were still elusive - or were they?
'Let me consider the facts', I thought to myself, 'tenuous as they are.'

In the tradition of those great sleuths in literature - Hercule Poirot, Nero Wolfe, Sherlock Holmes - I considered that the box:

1) was heavy, mettallic and locked.
2) had had a series of lines flashing across its screen that I had decoded into a non-binary numeric sequence (1,2,3,4...)
3) had been wrapped with the utmost care with newspaper, string and coated with an hallucinogenic substance.
4) rattled when shaken due to some supernatural rattly thing,
5) was locked within a safety deposit box.
6) According to Sam and Caedes the dog, it contained a new prototype safe Sam had been working on, and he appeared desperate to get it back,
7) was important enough to someone that knives, robots and M15 involved in either stealing or retrieving it.
8) known as the bahamian box, it was in the news all around Cuba.
9) was connected with a movie,
10) had been so fascinating to me that I had completely forgotten where I had originally been headed and had spent hours if not days seeking it.
11) Had led to me to a place full of images that didn't exist except in my own head. (okay that last one is getting a bit freaky)
12) seemed inextricably connected to all varieties of bread.

I let these facts swim around (with the images) until I realised...

Fortitude... sounding like aptitude, which reminded me of the strength and abilities I had needed to wade through the story thus far.
But why would the word 'fortitude' be on a note in a piece of bread that I had randomly selected?
It was as if someone had put it there deliberately after I had picked it, maybe by teletransportation..."fortitude"...forty-tude...forty-two-ed...

Aha! "Use this s#n#wich recipe for # uniquely s#nsible and s#tisy#ng way to consume t#e dreaded "end" of t#e loaf"
The typing was smudged, but at last the mystery, which had been cooking along for some time, had risen to a conclusion. *smiled to self, rye-ly* "all-white! This was just what was kneaded!"
Holy Croutons! Looking for a slice of the action, I had buttered up many of the characters I had met, but had possibly spread myself too thin, only to become sour (d'oh).
Fearing being caught in a jam, (or worse, getting cut) I had avoided becoming toast, but at the cost of becoming stale. I had faced danger - the possibility of a last (whole)meal, and nothing to show for it but a crumby surrender.
But now it had all become the clear.

If you use your loaf in Caedesland,
its bound to raise a smile,
if not your c-index!
