newbie here....what does it mean when it says my photos are archived. Are they not available anymore?

If they are archived, they will appear only in your personal gallery and in the wallpaper search results. They just won't appear in the permanent galleries, which results in less publicity, but people can still see the image by visiting your personal gallery.
