A good pal I work with offered to lend me his Tamron 11-18 wide angle lense, so I popped down to the Millennium bridge @ Newcastle & took this shot just after sunset. I know this shot has been taken many many times, but as any photographer knows each one is individual & memorable to those who have taken it. Just after I took this & was walking back over the bridge my son rang & asked for a lift home, so the moment passed & back into "Dad's taxi" mode for me!!LOL... But the image always remains... :))
After attending a workshop on flash photography last Sunday I decided to find something to capture using just my built in flash, as I don't have a flash gun yet. I remembered this local sculpture I passed a few weeks ago, so off I went... The Sculpture by Tony Cragg. Consisting of two massively enlarged stainless steel engineering instruments, its material acknowledges the former importance of steel to the town of Consett. Hope you like it, C & C always welcomed :))
My entry into the "Framing" competition. My favorite subject at present, the bridges over the river Tyne at Newcastle. The Millennium bridge is pictured in the foreground framing the other 4 bridges behind it. Taken just as the sun was setting over to the right & the city lights started to glow. I hope you like it :))
A picture of a frozen Derwentwater with Catbells mountain in the background. Taken late afternoon as the sun was just disappearing behind the fells to the right. Comments & critique always welcome :)
