Brilliance with Charm! by

I bought these sunflowers at a near by flower shop, and did this especially for those sweet people who thought I had rushed in the fall season too soon! Teasing! The fact is, I couldn't resist them, they were so lovely! The lighting was perfect, well, I was quite satisfied with the conditions in general, so I went to work! Galapagos! by

Hi, guess what, I found myself in the Galapagos Islands this morning! The word Galapagos is the spanish word for turtle or, in this case, the large giant tortoise! These wonderfully historical islands lie off the coast of Ecuador, about 600 miles! They are famous for these large turtles, which can weigh as much as 600 pounds and live to be over one hundred yrs! Also, the islands are well known for the famous Darwin Foundation and his research! This image reminded me of these wondrous aquatic islands, joking of course, but only in part! Smiling! This mushroom does resemble a turtle, don't you think? LOL! Marilyn

OK Russ, this is the best I can do! My bee simply cannot enter the contest until he is well! The ground here in MI has been lifted and they are now flying! However, I cannot see how we can proceed, as you can see, my bee has no muscle mass! Your Georgian bees would, well there would be no contest between them, so we must wait until mine work out and develop some muscle mass, then we can proceed! May the best one win, OK? I interrupt the 'ways of Autumn' to bring you.... you...who are being plagued with the grim and grey days of 'Autumn' Past.....the thrill of 'summer yellow'...
Lets just pretend momentarily.... that summer has just begun and we are basking in the warmth of the summer 'solstice'...
Solstice comes from the Latin (sol, sun; sistit, stands). For several days before and after each solstice, the sun appears to stand still in the sky—that is.... its noontime elevation does not seem to change.
In the Northern Hemisphere the longest day and shortest night of the year occur on this date, marking the beginning of summer. A rather simple explanation...but remember...we are just pretending here...and now we are enjoying 'Lillies of the Sun' on the longest day of the year...now..you must use your imagination....you know.....;o)
So long to the grim and dark days...that usually follow our 'Autumn' past....isn't this more fun?.......who knows..we might even get a tan...silly but fun.....

Hi everyone...
Isn't it amazing how the snow, actually preserves the flower...offers it moisture...and continues to furnish the needs of the flower for a 'moment in time'...;o) After a given period of time...it's demise....but meanwhile....what an exciting pleasure to view....;o)
The snow affords the perfect lighting and helps to produce the vivid colors....naturally.....Photoshop lended a slight tweak with contrast....but the lighting was the key....;o) Incidentally, I have seldom failed to get a good production with the sun in the sky and the snow far below....
I am sure this theory is not shared by many, but does often work for me!! WOW... what fun it is.... to view across the sheet of white...the vivid colors of the rose....;o)

And a Quiet Snowfall Came! by

While in the woods.. on this day...my surroundings were so beautifully quiet and peaceful...I was very happy to have had my camera....with me...A very nice day..indeed! This scene was taken immediately following our big snowfall of the yr.. in MI...On the floor of the woods laid a carpet of pure white snow...one could see the tracks of many animals who had visited there before...me....the deer tracks especially... are exciting to me...as I think deer photograph nicely and especially with a contrast of white snow as a background...Enjoy..and thank you...

My dear friend Bob...framed this image for me... with his tasteful choice...well suited for this photo...perfect...he also perked it up some...I like it much better...and I thank you Bob...for your time given to help me...it is so appreciated...as I am sure you are aware...;o)
I do think that the poor little 'fella'on the right needs to see an orthopedic surgeon...don't you? The poor little guy!!

Down on the Farm! by

Everyone one has the precious fond memory of a red barn tucked away or archived in a special place! It can be retrieved over and over, whenever fun things are to be remembered, right? However, this barn may play a different role, as it is one of the first photos, I have taken with my new camera, which is an Olympus E-500!!! LOL! The launching of the "Atlantis" today, wasn't more difficult than I find this camera to be! LOL! All kidding aside, isn't it an absolute marvel that the launch was successfull on the 5th try, absolutely incomprehensible to me, what a thrill it was to watch!! Enjoy the fragrance of the day...'Oil of Lavender'...... which is often used for it's healing properties...and stress relief...
Teasing a bit here...there is no relationship between my lilly...and the wonderful minty nectar...I make reference to here...Lol! However...many flowers do offer this marvelous scent...fragrance...for our pleasures! You ladies know what I am referring to...'a day at the spa'!! Yeah!!

A Butterfly's Dedicated Pose......... by

Hello, Friends, after a very long conversation with this lady, I was able to persuade her to pose for my camera, with a slight wing spread! She agreed to nothing more. I insisted she turn toward me, but she was determined not to, so I concluded, she may be a shy one. :o) I then thanked her graciously, and went on my way.......counting my blessings! This photo was taken at MSU gardens, where I spent an entire afternoon with a friend. Very enjoyable, indeed! Please enjoy, and thank you,

Hi everyone! As you all know Jerry (Oksyl), loves to combine two concepts, those of food and photo! This is a delightful, artistic, and creative expression of this, which was sent to me as a gift!! He used his talent and my roses to do this! I think it is so 'sweet' and thoughtful of him and I appreciate it very much Jerry!! Autumn Rainbows! by

Hi friends.....
I took this image along with a few others this morning.... following a rain...thinking the entire time...that the colors were just too pale...
But then.... Photoshop stepped in and came to my rescue...;o) Whew...that was close!! In my view...the photo appears as though it represents an early show of seasonal color........teasing...of course...as the leaves were really quite pale and void of color....
Our last two rains...were responsible...at least in Lansing MI!
