Ready to go, almost. by J_E_F
Another wintry shot from Yellowknife last March. If you've ever seen that show "Ice Pilots of the NWT" then you'll likely have seen this Buffalo Air beasty before. That's one of their DC3's in the sky above the nose cone. Last time I saw something similar to these planes was in an Indiana Jones movie. [Spot of HDR to bring out the clouds]

Going Supersonic by MrXwild
XB-70 Valkyrie-- Bryce & Photoshop-- The XB-70, one of the world's most exotic airplanes, was conceived for the Strategic Air Command in the 1950s as a high-altitude bomber that could fly three times the speed of sound (Mach 3). Because of fund limitations, only two were built, not as bombers, but as research aircraft for the advanced study of aerodynamics, propulsion, and other subjects related to large supersonic aircraft.--- Hope you enjoy it. If you do please Vote--- Thank You, Xwild

Mount McKinley from Space by SimonsSays
Mount McKinley, Alaska is featured in this image photographed by an Expedition 11 crewmember on the International Space Station. This view – of the highest point in North America (20,230 feet) looks as if it were taken from an aircraft. The Station crewmember took advantage of cloud free skies and the powerful 800 mm lens to photograph this peak, fully 800 miles to the north of the spacecraft, which was located over the Gulf of Alaska. The powerful lenses are difficult to use, requiring motion compensation by the astronaut, so that these kinds of detailed images of horizon detail are seldom taken. The rising sun casts long shadows across the Kahiltna Glacier that angles down from Mt. McKinley (lower left). Other glaciers with moraine lines appear at far left and far right. Despite the blueness inherent in images taken at great distance, this image also shows unusually dense atmospheric haze at lower altitudes: all the valleys in the foreground appear murky due to forest fire smoke. The Italian Carrier Cavour is designed to combine fixed wing V/STOL and helicopter air operations, command and control operations and the transport of military or civil personnel together with heavy vehicles such Ariete Tanks. The 134 metre, 2,800 m2 hangar space can be doubled in order to meet the capable volume of holding up to 24 main battle tanks or many more lighter vehicles (50 Dardo IFV, 100+ Iveco LMV), and is fitted aft with access ramps rated to 70 tons, as well as two elevators rated up to 30 tons for aircraft. Cavour can also operate as Landing Platform Helicopter (LPH), accommodating heavy transport helicopters (EH 101 ASH) and 325 marines. Enjoy.

Tricolor Arrows by Ed1958
The Frecce Tricolori (Italian, literally Tricolor Arrows), officially known as the 313° Gruppo Addestramento Acrobatico, is the acrobatic demonstration team of the Italian Aeronautica Militare, based in Rivolto Air Force Base, in the north-eastern Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, province of Udine. They were formed in 1961 as an Air Force team, replacing unofficial teams that had been sponsored by various commands by the end of the 1920s. The team flies the Aermacchi MB-339-A/PAN, a two-seat fighter-trainer craft capable of 898 km/h at sea level, with nine aircraft and a solo (the highest number of aircraft of any aerobatic team in the world).
