It started off as an empty frame and was made completely in Photoshop. I used a few filters and a great deal of color editing... and out came the final product.

Yes. The main filter here was the Flax Flame II. It began as a background, and then was morphed by some color editing, applying the filter, and then some blending and more color editing. Not overly technical, but I liked the result.
