When the Old West was being settled there were battles between Native Americans and settlers or pioneers as they were sometimes called. To go into battle, the Native American wouldn't have taken one arrow or the pioneers wouldn't have armed themselves with one bullet. Therefore when I found this gorgeous sunset, I didn't take just one photo. I took as many as I could because just as soon as I snapped one, the landscape had changed. Darkness had gained a second or two on me. I wanted to explain a couple of things about this sunset. The lake borders the golf course and when you look at the reflection in the lake, it appears the lake ends long before it actually does. The reflection is coming from the horizon which is quite a distance from where it appears and makes a false shoreline. The white behind the reflection is actually more of the lake. I found this to be quite fascinating. Also this photo named itself and you can see why if you look real close. Being aware of some of the Native American's beliefs, I find this to be somewhat spiritual.

Truly a stunning shot and you are like me. When it comes to the wonderous sky you need to keep taking those shots. You did an excellent job Tick. Stunning colors. Tigz♥

That's pretty amazing. I see the eagle. I also see an amazing sunset picture. You got a winner her, in my opinion. I love great skys, and this one surpasses that. You get a Sooper Dooper Award for sure on this posting. Nice going, Tick.

Tick, no jokes today, this is an incredible shot, the reflections are spectacular and the Eagle fiugure in the clouds is amazing. Another 'Fave'.

Your title is apt and your narrative pretty much essential to viewing it as it was. Of course I can see the eagle and it's no wonder that it brought to mind the Native Americans and their beliefs and views of the world.

Excellent presentation, again, my friend.

Yes amazing is the word. Your narrative is also a delight to read. My only complaint is that you kept the location a secret of yours. (All in smile)

What I find most remarkable about this image is the reflection of the clouds in the water/ice. That sky and cloud formation are really awesome. Love this one, Tick. Very beautiful.

Spititual? I don't know that one. I looked it up and couldn't find it, so I'm making my own definition, now let's see......

This is lovely Tick, I know what you mean about taking lots of different versions. I bet you sit in front of the computer for ages trying to decide between them too, I know I do. Beautiful sky and as always a thought-provoking commentary. There really is something quite spiritual about it

fantastic sunset and fantastic cloud formation Tick! ...and I understand completely the need to keep taking photographs - you have to be quick when the sun is rising or setting or you miss the best moments. I would probably take 30-40 images in 5 minutes! lol! I agree with Bob that the horizon needs a slight nudge up to bring it level, but the overall picture is so beautiful, most people would not even notice it.

A gorgeous shot! I have always thought reflections to be intriguing and deceptive at the same time... where do they begin and 'realness' end? They can be beautiful Tricksters.

nice sunset, and it does have several interesting optical illusions. The light streak being from water turbulence I'm betting and then the reflection of the trees to the right seem out of proportion until I realized that they were on a bank closer to the camera and not on the silhouette of the hillside.

The only detractant is the pixelated sky.
