I was returning from my Grandson's flag football game yesterday when I saw a scene I thought looked interesting. There was a grove of trees with their fall coloring, a field of green winter wheat and a clouded sky with sun rays fighting their way through. I stopped and got set to take the photo when this buggy with the two Amish boys popped up from over the rise. I was so surprised, I almost forgot to take a photo. I only got one. We traded greetings and they were gone. Enjoy.

This could be a scene from 1710, 1810, 1910 but rare to capture in 2010. Lucky you happened to be in the right place at the right time to capture this timeless classic...most excellent!

I have a real interest in the Amish people and how they continue to exist with minimal technology in this world filled with internet and gadgets for everything. I always wonder how they come across as so serene and peaceful when they work so blummin hard on their farms and homesteads. There is a show that I have seen advertised called "Amish in the city" where it takes Amish kids and plonks them into a situation with modern day teens and then see's how they cope. Almost poking fun. I am glad to see a picture like this which respects their way of life. xx
