This old elevator sits in McKittrick, Missouri next to a bike/walking trail. There once were tracks and trains that occupied the trail but they have long since disappeared. The Missouri River is just a stones throw (if you have a good arm) away.

I used the ShiftN program to make sure the elevator was standing as straight as I could make it. Skitzo (palral) recommended the program. I don't know if it is the vines or just an Optical Illusion that makes it appear to be bursting at the seams. To me it is Optical Confusion. Enjoy.

I love these old elevators that have the vines growing on them. The colors and depth are wonderful and you found the perfect sky for it as well.

Fourth floor, please. I have an appointment with Dr. Hackenbush. A nice perspective and optical illusion in the photo, Tick. Good details, colours and textures in the shot.

It is an optical dilusion pal!...at least my owd eyes think so!..Possible camera distortion too, but it really works for me!...some noise at close zoom, but this also works for the kind of image, I notice on the roof on the far right of the building, a 'cross'?...blended with the tree background makes it hard to see, but it is there!....You were truly blessed at capturing this!

Left standing to face the weather till the end - But the vines have given the elevator a new younger look Tick. The distorted look is definitely caused by the vines.

Did they steal that ivy from Wrigley? LOL. This is a cool shot, Tick. I like the way that structure looks against the gorgeous sky. Excellent work.
I am going to try that ShiftN.

I think it's the vines that make it look fat on top. Maybe it is partially lens distortion. Did you try using Lens Correction in PS just to see if it changed anything? Remnants of a time past.

Tick - I think you got the vines wrapped tightly around this chimney to make sure it stayed straight for the photo - good work there! When identifying the program you used, be sure to type it carefully, or you'll be in big trouble. :-) I like the tones in this image, with an old, hand painted photo sense. The old cement and rusting galvanized panels add to the sense of age. Well done! Thad
