Another shot from from my trip to Mark Twain Lake. You can see the first post here. I spotted this smaller lake which was very close to the main lake. All the lakes water levels are lower because of the lack of moisture this winter. Those who know, or say they know, are predicting a dry summer. Only time will tell.

This is not too far from where Samuel Clemons (Mark Twain) was born. I will eventually make it to his home place but for now we can enjoy the fading light. Another quote from Mark Twain: Let us live so that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry.

Beautiful light and texture. Thanks to La Nina, in South East Australia we have experienced heavy rainfall. Fortunately our town has escaped the flooding now being eperienced inland.

Great lighting, love the reddish color and how you took the photo from standing back in the woods a bit. Well done. I need to visit there someday soon.

Sets a reflective mood with the amber tones of the light areas and shade. I don't care what the undertaker thinks. lol

Hi, TicK....

Well, you know California. Every summer is a dry summer, and unfortunately it was a very dry winter as well with a total accumulation of about 7" of rain for the season. With all of the vineyards around here pumping up the water from the aquifers, I'm hoping for a few downpours in the next few weeks before the "Rainy season" comes to an end.

I like this shot much better than "Bluffin" which I also liked. The lighting on this shot is excellent. Looks like an early morning or late afternoon shot from the colors. That little lake looks like many of our reservoirs - very low. Except for the sky, this shot is perfect. Let me elaborate since nobody else said anything. Because of the branches, the sky is a bunch of puzzle pieces. I assume you have to individually select each piece of sky to make necessary adjustments. It looks like you missed a few. For example, the blue in the sky is darker in the middle than it is both left and right although there's also a darker piece in the right middle as shown here. Other than that, beautiful work.

Well, 'ol friend...it's not 'Hidden' no more!...

Such a lovely secluded spot, and well shot!...My eyes did draw to what Rodger selected, I think the rain deforestation has a lot to do with our present weather patterns at the moment!...There is concerns of 'drought' in the south east of our country too!..

Nice one!..

The lake does look to be down a good 6 ft or more. A lovely view of this hidden gem, Tick. Beautiful lighting and colour in the scene. Good job.

Tick as much as I like the first post this one outdoes it by a long shot. I love the trees and the fading light. I think it may be dry this summer but I think we are in for a hum dinger of a storm season first.
