Nothing says country like a red barn, blue sky, massive Oak tree and livestock grazing in the pasture. Well, three out of four ain't bad. This is another from my trip to Mark Twain Lake. You can see more starting here.

I circled this tree like a buzzard with a broken wing trying to get the right angle. Some of the obstacles included: A busy roadway, glaring sun, no trespassing signs, precarious parking and an impatient wife. Or was it a glaring wife and impatient sun. I'm kinda confused about the whole thing now. I guess I will revert to this quote by Mark Twain. "Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.".

Tick, Besides putting off with the obstacles, your effort sure paid off, I really like this one, and perfect composition, that massive oak really seems to stand out, and grabs attention.

You got the red barn, the blue sky and the tree. A great combination to make a pretty nature image which is what this is, Tick.

I think you hit upon one of the best perspectives to show how huge that tree is. Content-aware fill will get rid of obstacles you don't want in the shot, but finding one without obstacles to start is probably best. Nicely done.

I knew you had run into a number of obstacles before I read the narrative, TicK. It's not like you to chop off the top of the tree and have the crop so tight at the bottom. I know how difficult an impatient wife can be. I sometimes stand in the women's intimates department at the department store for an hour while she tries on various unmentionables. But when it comes to my "art", it's another story. Congratulations on doing a complete 360° circle. I think my best would have been 269°48'36". Anyway, the shot paid off. It's a beauty. Next time take three steps back and hope that the traffic stops. :-)

I'd say you done good dealing with the glaring, impatient wife. A great looking bit of the country. Good composition of the scene and a lovely glow in the lighting and colours. Very nicely done.
