There is a beautiful flower behind the bull--you just can't see it. Therefore this will be my Friday Foofyless post.

I spied this big fella when I was leaving the golf course the other day. The bird was feasting on all the gnats that were pestering the poor guy. By the time I got ready with my camera, the bird took off. I took a couple of shots of the bull anyway and was leaving when the bird returned. He stopped long enough for one shot and was gone again.

I left the building, cattle trailer and vehicles in the shot because I like how they looked like little farming toys he plays with. I didn't figure the photo was going to win any prizes so why not leave them for perspective. He looks mad enough to eat the red vehicle. I wonder if they really get mad when they see red? There was nothing manipulated in this photo. He couldn't talk the cow into coming over or there might have been.

One of our members could use your prayer's. Please check it out here.

Happy Easter!

I think he could take on a Kodiak bear! Nice shot with the little bird. It looks like something the bull uses to scratch himself!

Great title and I love the shot. I am always amazed how these little birds just perch on cattle . Not sure if red makes them mad or not. Do know my brother and I were chased by my Grandfather's bull one time when we were kids. My brother had a red shirt on. I just knew that was the problem and while running was screaming for him to take that red shirt off! Little did I know this seemed to be a game the old bull liked to play no matter what color you were wearing.

The bull looks quite happy with the starling [?] on his head.
They cannot see colours but get mad when people wave some rags in front of them, wouldn't you? LOL
Very sweet image, dear agent.

Cool shot. Reminds me of the bird on the turtle in B.C. It makes sense that some birds would be happy to be so near a ready source of food and why the bull would be happy to have him around. That sort of thing is probably more common than I think on land. Nice capture of a starling.

I'm surprised the bull didn't snort at the bird. Really cool shot Tick and I agree about keeping the farm vehicles and stuff in there. It makes the scene ;-)

Now that is quite a bull story, Tick. Good perspective work in the photo. Nice composition, lighting and colours in the scene. Good work.

I like Richie's comment. Wish I had thought of it.

Fine shot and great timing, TicK. Thank you for the Foofyless post. Have you ever had too much of a good thing like a genuine kosher pickle? You were starved and thought that the 3 pound pickle looked just perfect sitting in the barrel. About halfway through you knew you had made a mistake but didn't want to dump the rest of the pickle since you had spent almost a dollar on a damn pickle; so you just keep eating away at that pickle. You take smaller and smaller bites but they feel like each small bite is a huge mouthful. Well, after 35 comments today about flowers, there nothing like a little bullshot.

I feel sorry for the guy too. You need a flock of birds to keep that guy clean. He's covered with flies. Apparently they're attracted to the bullshot. Excellent clarity and a true Missouri rural background.

Superb capture. It reminds me of the old saying, A bird on the head is worth two on the tush. The composition is excellent although I probably would have blurred the background. Still, it's a very interesting photo.
