I can't imagine a scene being any more peaceful or relaxing than this scene. You can see the panorama view here.

I am dedicating this to Glen Campbell who is battling Alzheimer's Disease. He is currently in the middle of his farewell tour and has recorded his last studio album. To think he used to be a studio musician.

"Gentle On My Mind" or "Rhinestone Cowboy" are two of his greatest hits but this collaboration with Steve Wariner is my favorite.

This shot was taken from the bottom of the hill, but for some reason it looks like it was shot from a higher angle. Enjoy the scene, song and have a safe and enjoyable weekend.

What a beautiful pastoral scene. And it does appear to be shot from an adjacent hill.
Of course, you could be 15 feet tall, and been hiding it all this time, and used a fisheye ;-).
Glen's an all time favourite for me , as well.

I think I first became aware of Glen Campbell on the Smothers Brothers show. Turns out he was a member of The Wrecking Crew and played with just about everybody. I didn't know he had Alzheimer's. Sh*t! I can't think of anything worse.

On the other hand, this is one of the best postings I've seen in a good long time. I guess I would categorize his as a pastoral setting (I said that while Doug and I were both writing our comments). I can't critique this shot, TicK. It's as close to perfect as anything I can remember. Faves from me and Dorothy. I guess it's been nominated to the A.C. because the box is gone. Either that or I'm fresh out of nominations. One way or the other I'll double back next week and see what's what. Stunning work.

This does look like a very relaxing place. Throw down a blanket and have a picnic while listening to the Glen Campbell music.

I run into that shooting uphill perspective problem all the time. Try shooting from a lower angle. A peaceful looking country scene. Good composition and lighting in the scene, Tick, and good post work on the shot. A great song link.

I have a few of Glens songs!...and I have friends who are battling the same disease too...

The shot is easy on the eye Pal...and has a kind of 3D with the angle of the capture too....

~~~Remembered to get a joint of lamb out the freezer for tomorrow...thanks!~~~
Wonderful scene that truly exudes a feeling of peace. Nice of you to dedicate this to someone who has provided so much enjoyment to so many all those years. It is sad. That "Rhinestone Cowboy" was such a hit. I heard it for the nth time just a few weeks ago on the radio.
Lovely pastoral scene, Tick, and very fitting title and dedication...I always liked many of his songs, 'Gentle on my Mind' and 'By the time I get to Phoenix' being two of my favorites...I was saddened to learn of the battle he faces...it seems many of the old names in music are coming up in the news these days.
My favorite song was By the Time I Get to Phoenix. I met him once very briefly at a golf course club house. My Dad had vascular dementia, which is very similar to Alzheimer's. Overall, the effect is the same. One thing I found hard to see is when some people who knew him wouldn't visit because he wouldn't know them anyway. Really, it's just that they were uncomfortable around him and around that situation, as if they would, perhaps, catch it or something. He did know my Mom right to the end. That was special. Hope for the best for Glenn. Thanks for the photo and the thoughts about Glenn.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
The sheep, the swell of the ground topped by the tree, and the warm light all contribute to the bucolic character of this shot. perfect for the original purpose of this site; wallpaper. Well done, Tick.
