The Katy Trail is now reserved for bicycles and foot traffic. At one time it was home to the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad Line. They kept their dynamite stored in this structure. I can't help but think the James Gang spent some time there waiting for a train. You can read more about the Katy Trail here. This photo was taken just outside the town of Rocheport, Missouri.

I really like the rustic look of this, what a marvelous trail they made of the rail line. I think you have done some HDR here, and it brings out the details superbly. Tigz♥ =^..^=

I like the light and shadow play here. Interesting link Tick. If this is on the trail I suppose visitors will be peeping in always. So no animals probably live inside.

That looks like it would have been a good hideout or clubhouse when I was a kid. My brothers and the neighbor kids built something similar to that only it was all wood. Cool shot, Tick. Excellent colors, lighting and textures.

I bet the James Gang hid in this structure more than once. A large, freshly cut bush set in front of the dark door would probably keep them unseen from late evening to early morning. Might even be large enough to bring horses inside. I like pics that get my imagination going...this is a beautiful desktop AND has a story!

So is it safe to blow this photo up or not?

An interesting structure and good capture, Tick. I like the dappled lighting in the scene. Nice colours, textures and great link for the rest of the story.

Great capture here Tick and thanks for the narrative too. Can you imagine if the dynamite had blown in there with those tight walls, it could have been huge boom!
