Sometimes it just doesn't make good horse sense to venture out on a snowy winters day. I can't say much because I was out taking photos. Different strokes as they say.
Tick Mayby they needed to make a quick run to the store. when you need something bad enough snow is not gonna stop a hearty old horse. Very pretty scene! Faved
A contest entry perhaps? Sure would make a good one...I hear we're in for a rough winter this year...looking at this I feel like it's already started...great composition.
A picture is worth a thousand words!! Not many people would venture out in weather like this in a horse and buggy, got to give it to the Amish to remind us how modern conveniences we are so use to:) Outstanding shot Tick!! Were you on foot or in a warm car?
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
This is a Great scene, Tick! However; I might be Inclined to Have greater Faith in the Horse, than Some vehicles on Days such as This one! ...though, I must admit, It's my Absolute favorite Time to 'Drive', Hahaha! Nicely composed, Thanks for Sharing!
I trust this is from last winter Tick and You don't have snow already this year in Missouri. Lovely shot - it reminds me of the other snowy one with the Amish buggy You posted that I love so much.
Such a simple photo it seems at first look, but very dramatic and very well done. Nice Winter scene which I am looking forward to after the Drought and heat wave this Summer.
The driver might want to think of putting on some snowshoes and snow tires to help get through the drifts. Is this some cost-cutting method being tried out by the postal service? A great looking scene, Tick. A nice DoF and contrasts in the image. Best of luck in the contest.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

What a great blizzard feel from this one. Love the contrast of the black carriage against the white snow. Powerful. I can also sense some motion with the carriage as well. Congrats on the capture!

This Image GRABBED my EYE. That's Why I Stopped By. Thanks For Sharing ! Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience
