There are not any rivers running through the mountains in my part of the world. Mainly because there are no mountains. In these tough economic times, travel is not an option for me to travel to the mountains for a contest photo. If it cost a nickel to go around the world, I couldn't get out of sight.

It is a beautiful shot Tick. The high banks of the river can be accepted as substitutes for mountains. I like the trees and the cloudy sky.

Whether something's a mountain or not is reative. The highest point in Holland is only 1050ft above sea level and it's called a mountain so anything you show us and say it's a mountain I'll accept it. This image has the air of an oil painting about it. Gorgeous.

This is a perfectly good river, worth much more than a nickel, and you photographed it splendidly. You even got in a twist and a turn in the river... I like it!

No mountains, dirty river and no money to travel - is my case ! gggrrr
However, I can still enjoy the other's beauties of mountains & rivers combinations and designs. This is a great looking Nickel River LOL
