Foraging for food can be difficult at times. With all the recent snowstorms, these strange bedfellows were doing their best to locate a meal. The hunting seasons are closed for both deer and turkey at the present time, so they felt safe they weren't the dinner reservations.
I was returning home from a basketball game when I spied them in the open field. You seldom see them together, so I knew a photo was in order. I found it interesting there were six turkey and six deer. You can see the beards on five of the turkeys so they are most likely Gobblers. I suppose there could be a Bearded Lady in the mix. The deer have probably shed their antlers by now, but they appear to be does. The turkeys scratch around for food in the snow as do the deer. I suppose they were helping each other with their dinner reservations. It is not your gorgeous close up, but I think it does tell its own story. Possibly a candidate for the current contest.
I say anytime you have an image with Turkeys and Deer together....Approved!
Sorry to see Wildlife suffer this way. Thanks for sharing a Great Nature Shot that does tell a Story Tick.
I could see this as an entry.....Best of Luck if you do enter it.
