I saw this dove while on my morning walk. I think he was charging his GPS, because his mate was nowhere to be seen. I tried to get more shots, but they are skittish and off he flew. I guess his WhyFly was working just fine. Perhaps an entry for the isolation contest.

He's definitely an isolated spot of nature among all the technology crowding his world. I love the silhouette and think this is a great entry, Tick.

Lonesome Dove. I like the silhouette combination of dove, telephone pole and wires. Power lines are acceptable now and no longer need to be cropped out. Excellent entry for the contest, TicK.

Aren't you confusing "isolation" with "insulation" dear agent ? LOL
Fine entry, maybe:)

He looks rather isolated up there Tick. Could make a good entry for that reason.

The pure black on white is particularly striking, and the diagonal composition doubles the impact, Tick
You're here, so it's obvious you understand, not to stand under, anything with that much impact.

He looks like a Lonesome Dove, Tick. Maybe he is waiting for the bankers!!

Woodrow Call: [riding in San Antonio] Things sure have changed since the last time I was here. It's all growed up.
Gus McCrae: Of course it's growed up, Woodrow. He killed all the Indians and bandits so the bankers could move in.
Woodrow Call: Only a fool would want the Indians back.
Gus McCrae: Has it ever occurred to you, Woodrow; that all the work we done was for the bankers? Hell, we killed off everybody made this country interestin'!

From the silhouette I'm guessing this is a mourning dove as opposed to a pigeon and with the mournful sound they make, suggestive of loneliness or isolation, makes this particular bird a good subject for the contest...that he/she is sitting alone in what we perceive as precarious surroundings adds to the mood and perception so I'd say this is a great entry and wish you best of luck.

he seems to have gotten tranformed? i do love a good silhouette. i like the position of the dove right above the small wood brace below, it seems to be the same angle is that of the birds back.

now i hate wires in my way when taking pictures but this one is definitely an exception to the rule. its a great shot TicK.

Always love good b & w silhouette shots. Very crisp and clean. Also, anything to do with telephone poles interests me. My father once worked as a pole lineman.
