Cardinal Nation, the name for the St. Louis Cardinals and their fans, suffered a major loss Sunday when Oscar Taveras was killed in a car accident. I know it pales in comparison to what his family is feeling, but to those who are Cardinal Fans, it is like losing a family member. When someone, who has not had the opportunity to taste life to its fullest dies, it is especially tragic and makes us realize how fragile life can be.

You can read about Oscar and his life here.

This is one beautifully looking photography it as a summer look with the bird and winter with the trees and the detail is outstanding along with your presentation and great artist effect you applied with colour and B&W.

That is sad news to lose a great sports man who will be sadly lost by many fans ,but will be remembered for many years and Thanks for the link .

Tick ... I heard the tragic & sad news about Oscar Taveras on the news last night. How deeply saddened his family, teammates, & fans must be. He sounds like he was a player to watch on the field ... an upcoming outstanding player.

Brings me back to a time in 2006 when the MN Twins lost one of their most popular players (though already retired) ... Kirby Puckett. He is still remembered by his team & fans. The same will be with Oscar.

A fitting & beautiful tribute, Tick.
Oscar , #18 will not be forgotten.

Tick, I must confess that I, as a 'USA foreigner', have not known the sportsman Oscar Taveras. That does not mean, when I heard that his young life was taken away by a car accident, that it has not an impact to me as well. Oh no.
For you however, as a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, it must be if you've lost a loved one.

It's true Owd Fella that life can be very fragile.

Thanks for the link and thanks for the fine capture in remembrance of Oscar Taveras.

Your selective editing really makes that handsome cardinal stand out, and what a perfect tribute to someone so young, and his girlfriend also. =^..^=tigz♥

Nice shot of the cardinal up on the tree Tick. It saw that on the TV news here also. What a pit! So young and with such a career ahead of him.

This is a great shot of the cardinal in the tree and you've processed the image so imaginatively and well. So sorry to hear your news about Oscar, what a tragedy for all involved.

I'm not a baseball fan but if I was I guess I'd have to go with the Bluejays and not the Cardinals...nevertheless, very sorry to hear of this loss and your great work on this image is a fine and fitting tribute.

very well said Tick, im sorry im just getting to this one posted. had my hands full as you knew. i noticed the fine pic & great edit job but neglected to read the narr. on it at the time. wow, my heart goes out to the family, not that big of a sports fan so i really didnt know it happen. any one taken before he/hers time...we just have to think its gods will. dont make it any easier for us to grasp or try in find sense in it. often pounder the questions of why! myself.

anyways, sorry if my post seems to shadow your fine edited job..its a great tribute my friend! great edit indeed!
