One of our little lakes had some visitors yesterday and they seemed to be talking about their flight plans. There was a whole flock of geese with them earilier, but they were gone by the time I arrived. I think one goose stayed behind to do some spying. Perhaps SAM recruited it to get some migrating information. I think they were on the way to her Caedes Anniversary Party (11 years) today.
As near as I can figure, these are Tundra Swans. There seems to be a dab of orange on their bills. I apologize for the white being washed out a tad, but the sun chose to shine while I was taking photos. The wind was RAW but I forgot to do the same to my camera. Oh, the trials and tribulations of a forgetful photographer.

The goose is probably confused as to why the snow landed on the other three and not on him. I hope you spoke goosy to him and straightened him out. You captured a beautiful scene here, Tick.

Your title sounds like the beginning of a good joke...So three swans and a goose walk into a bar....Someone is out-numbered in this image, TicK! Good one.

Difficult light conditions but you still got a decent shot Tick. The new regulations say that geese flight plans must be submitted and approved before take off.

Tick, I sent those Tundra Swans to you because they said they wanted to see "The Show Me State". Excellent capture of these fall migrants & the lighting is perfect.

The Canada goose seems to be in it's element!....It is staying put....cos the deer season is there! .. and feels safer on the water than in the air!

Tick, thanks for this report (narrative and intentional meant RAW-image). To me there's only one explanation possible:
The air traffic to the 11th Caedes-birthday party for SAM is so busy that some 'flying objects' are already in a parking orbit. To safe fuel these three however have chosen for a stopover. The black SA is normally invisible, but the snow has reflected that much sunlight that it has put a spanner in the works.

i think that one is a duck..no them are not ducks..yes them are two ducks! maybe 3 gaint white ducks and a robin..i once dated a robin that swam..she was faster then i was at camp. oh no! i think i see some strange lights in the rear view mirror..ill get back with ya on this one...gotta pull over! they said texting & driving-dont mix..i mixed it before i left..dang!

I love this capture the light and composition is stunning and the reflections you capture that brake up the colour in the sand bank .Plus lovely backdrop and colours and very nice detail plus composition too.This is one when you enlarge is even better Tick.

Such a gorgeous capture of these gorgeous swans & goose. I see you have a dusting of snow with some ice on the water. Maybe the goose is already relaying the information back to SAM, lol.
