The weather was bitterly cold yesterday and the wind was howling, making it even colder. This lone horse had his back to the wind and was trying to make the best of it. There wasn't even a tree for shelter. I have one of it up closer, but I like the desolate feel this scene emits.

On another note, the Owd Timer sent me the following message. He said I could edit it as I saw fit. I decided to leave it in his own words. Get well soon mate.

Thanks for the wishes mate......Sorry about not corresponding....but, this has been one of the worst bouts I have ever encountered!....My whole body is one solid lump of pain...and when the coughing starts....Oh boy!.....I feel like overdosing to end it all...especially when it is beginning to interfere with my heart problems!....I am on strong anti-biotics & steroids..When the coughing kicks in....My heads feels like it is gonna explode!...I shake all over, and Ann (bless her) is at her wit's end trying to do things for me!... She gave me some very powerful pain pills and a couple of sleeping pills last night, to see if I could get some sleep!....I lasted 3 hours!!!.......this is the first since Sunday!!....I have been propped up in my chair with a sleeping bag wrapped around me....If I lie down, the coughing begins with a vengeance.....So, sitting is my best option! I just haven't been ar*ed or bothered to pick up my laptop, apart from glancing a messages etc!...... Today, the coughing 'doesn't seem so bad...and Ann is away to town for some 'extra's to help this!...... Still..............I needed to go on a diet after the New Year.....But I would have preferred it more natural!............(I've lost nearly 2 stone since it started).............

Tick, it's very clear what our Owd Mucker has gone through and probably in a lesser amount will go through.

The only thing we can do, is to wish him, from this place, a soon recovery.
Bob, keep strong (as far as possible). We miss you Pal!

Thanks for the update Ron. Thanks too for your fine post Owd Fella.

Hope OB's illness gets better soon. I didn't realize it was that bad. Nice shot of the poor lonely horse in the cold Tick.

It sounds like Owd Bob has the worst of the worst bugs going aorund and I wish him strength and a speedy recovery. This photo represents the opposite of what OB is experiencing...as we are around him to support & cheer him up in any way possible. Be strong OB and kick this illness in the butt!

I'm so sorry for OB - I hope the fact he's not coughing today is a good sign - thanks for the info Tick. I'm also sorry for this horse out in this without even a shelter near by but the image conveys exactly what you wanted - good one.

I wish there could be barn for this horse - it is so cold and horse hair only goes so far in keeping one warm. Hopefully Bob is on the mend and will be well soon.

I did not know O.B was that bad, I sure hope he is on the way to recovery. Bob, I'm thinking of you my friend.
Tick your presentation fits not only the news of Bob, but what the horse has to deal with. There should be some kind of shelter- even three sided would be better than standing out there like. I hope he makes it through the winter, and Bob too! tigs =^..^=

i think he has the camouflage down pat..but even a coat like that wont help in this weather TicK. the pictures is fitting for the owd timers update. it looks like its a toss up between the two of which were going to have to put down first. hay we cant even draw straws here...there's none left, the horse ate it all. ok you can have first pick, you are a couple years older then me.

Nice shot, but somehow sad. Poor horse. Thanks a lot, Tick, for letting us know about Bob. I knew something was wrong, he is never away so long. Get well, Bob, we miss your excellent and funny works.
