Sorry to keep boring you with Eagle shots, but I can't help myself. I saw this one today while I was returning from visiting my mother at the Nursing Home. It was dining on a roadkill possum on the highway. Of course it flew when I approached, so I continued home and got my Nikon D7000 and the Nikkor 70-300mm lens. I wish I had a more powerful lens, but poor folks have poor ways.

I drove back and found it sitting in a tree. I got out of range and helped him watch the possum. The traffic was quite busy for the time and we just looked at each other, neither one making a move. He finally outlasted me and I left him to dine after the crowd had thinned. It was in the sun and I got his eye pretty good, so that is why I am posting. Just a little cropping, otherwise this is how it came out of the camera. Anyone want to join it for possum?

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

No, you are not boring us at all Tick because this is a fine and very clear shot of "Baldy" up on the tree. It is clear enough even for a much bigger crop. Good one! I always told you to learn eagle talk but I see you didn't.

Good thing it didn't invite you to dine with him! Then again, maybe possum is a delicacy in your neck of the woods. lol. Excellent shot of the eagle, even if it is just a tad far off. The only eagles I ever see are in the Zoo. Well done, Tick.

Never could get bored looking at our National Bird in the wild. You are so lucky to see them and go off and grab a camera and return and he is still there Tick. Perhaps we have found one thing in our government that has worked - the Endangered Species Act. We are having more eagles spotted around Guntersville and the Tennessee River and apparently, Missouri is seeing their numbers increase. Keep those photos coming.

I've also yet to catch a shot of an eagle so I thank you for sharing your strategies with us - I think it is an excellent shot considering all the circumstances.

Possum taste much better after it's been flattened and left to bake a few days on the roadside. So give me a call when it's done. Skunk on the other hand is best served fresh while it still holds the aroma.

A good capture of the eagle, TicK. Nice lighting, colours and details in the photo.
