I saw some Eagles yesterday and was unable to get very close for a photo shoot. There were three of them, two adults and a juvenile sitting in the pasture next to my daughter's home. I tried to sneak up on them, but even though I have some Indian Blood (Cherokee), I didn't inherit their ability to hide in an open pasture. I got a couple of photos of the Eagles on the ground and some when they flew away . I particularly liked how this one banked and showed off his wing span and feather pattern. I had to crop quite heavily, so I added a texture to give it a painted feel. LenaBem Anna of Flickr was nice enough to let me use this texture. I hope you enjoy it.

You know what? This image would make a great looking throw, or blanket. I would buy one if they were available. There is a definite Native American feel to this too, Chief Tick. Outstanding work with the editing.

Tick, with this added texture, the eagle now can land on the moon, so that finally can be said "The Eagle has landed.", lol.

Difficult to capture (and manipulate), but the result is far better than one can expect in these conditions. Well done Owd Fella.

Excellent work Tick!!! Love the effect that you used - it looks like a watercolor painting. The pastel colors in the background are just wonderful and, of course, the eagle in flight is captured at a great angle.

I'm familiar with her work from Flickr Tick and she's very talented but then so are you to even capture shots of eagles in the wild - this one turned out beautifully and is a fave for me.

the cherokee's abilities to hide in the open pastures didnt involve hiding in a pickup truck with a bear, TicK.

you must move as silent as the wind, stump jumper! only then will you be undetectable...oops sorry, thats not cherokee tongue, got it mixed up with reruns of kung fu!

Great shot and I really like the painted look and limited elements of the scene...it would make a nice wall hanging IMO.
