I heard a goose addressing his flock the other day and he said it was time to head north.
He said: "February is almost gone and it is time to find the prime nesting sites before they are all taken."

Geese are supposed to have this built in GPS system that lets them know when and where to go. Well we are here, and and look what we ran into. The missus has turned her back on me, so talking nesting and egg making is probably out of the question. To say she is giving me the cold shoulder is an understatement.

We are the first to arrive, so I guess we have that going for us. Think I'll go have a Frosty.

Edit : It is the Robin talking, not me.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Tick - These look more like Turdus migratorius than geese. In any case, they gave you the cold shoulder. If you ask me, standing in snow would make anyone cold. If the turdus start showing up, Spring is on the way.

Goosie gander I don't think so Tick. Even so it's a good catch of the Robins, the eye gleem is good. I have not seen any yet, but I'm starting to hear birdies out there a little. tigz=^..^=

Well Tick it looks like this pair is going to take up residence in your area and check out the environment for future nest construction. They look like a hardy pair - I think they'll do just fine. Nice shot - we do have a few robins in my neck of the woods - as of late, I have heard them chirping and twittering no doubt, claiming their territory!!!

Apparently I'm not much brighter than those other 'Canadians' the Canada geese...took me awhile to catch your drift of what was going on here...well, at least the robins have shown up in your area...surely that's a hopeful sign...cute capture and narrative.

You really goosed us with this one!.....either that...or, you are Robin us of our senile senses!.....

whichever way I look at it...you got a great capture, it's not often we see Robins in pairs!.....(Unless of course....Easter is due, so Eges are a must!)

I almost thought there was a disagreement with the Missus. But knowing that you understand a bird's soliloquy I caught on that it was the robin. Nice shot of the pair. They had a tiff because he tried to be amorous in flight- that is not on!

The Robins should have a talk with Canada Geese about getting their GPS units fixed. I don't think any of them ever make it back to Canada, do they? Robins in the snow is always a good sign that Spring is on the way. Beautiful capture, Tick.

This is very amusing tick and I can understand the robins frustration at this month - I haven't seen geese or robins just sparrows and cardinals!
