In case you wondered what I was doing during my recent hiatus, taking photos at sporting events was high on the list. Baseball, golf and most recently, football. The weather wasn't always this bad. My grandson (#24) was captain of the defense and he made All Conference as a linebacker. This was a High School game and since their wasn't any lightning, they continued to play. I might mention I was roaming the sidelines and was soaked, but my camera stayed dry.

I have to go because its: "13 minutes to Judge Wapner and The People's Court."

I didn't have any trouble getting home because: "I'm an excellent driver."

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

I too used to stand right up by the fence ready with my camera. Funny how the weather never bothered me. Now I set in my car and watch from the window, times have changed. Love this action shot though.

You did a superb job on this one, and how the heck did the camera stay dry in that downpour. Your grandson sure has grown up, where has the time gone. tigz=^..^=

You braving the wet elements yielded a great sports photo, Tick. I too am curious about how you kept the gear dry. I'm still chuckling over the Raymond Babbitt quotes.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), I see that your grandchild has become big (applies to my grandsons as well), so he will not melt from that "little" rain, lol.
The weather conditions are very bad here, so I hope you haven't caught a cold, because we aren't getting any younger.

Good action picture, my friend!

I've seen plenty of good sports images here on Caedes but they're all pretty much the same except for the occasional human challenge photo. This one, however, is quite unique, illustrating (without a bunch of noise, I might add) one of the real challenges of the game. Good focus, colors, and composition, the pano effect works very well in containing the linear action of a game seen from the sidelines.

Now that's a cool shot. Excellent shot from the sidelines, Tick. I have been soaked at football games before, but had no camera with me...luckily!
