This was take in the Elephant Rock State Park in Southwest Missouri. I didn't have much time to explore the park at the time, but I plan on returning one day. If you want to read more about the park, you can click here. I think the elephants are resting in this particular photo.

Very cool! Florida has never had any volcanic activity, hence the lack of rocks and boulders, etc. I am real glad to see you back in the saddle! I get sentimental, and there have been some original Caedes folks from when I first started that have passed on, or just dropped out not to be seen again (Jimbob??, Lake Michigan?) FWIW I talked with .Tib (Tina) awhile back and she's doing well. Please continue to bestow us with more of your work. Take care.

Looks like a neat park to visit. I think I may see some tortoise in this elephant's DNA.

The large rock looks as though it's comforting a... foot? Very unique formations in this park. You may want to consider a return trip sometime. Good color and textures here, Ron.

I wonder how the "elephants" came in the middle of the flat ground. Must have happened a billion years ago. Good one Tick.

Marvelous shot of this very interesting rocks - excellent lighting. I think I see the ear of the one big one resting on the one on the upper right of the rocks, lol.

Good shot of this natural phenomenon, Tick.
I've checked-out your link (thanks) and found its information very interesting, in particular: "Stones unsuitable for architectural use were made into shoebox-sized paving stones that were used on the streets of St. Louis as well as on its wharf on the Mississippi River."
Hope that the big ones, like the ones in your photograph, will be kept in place, because of the historical aspects.

Reminds me of our Elephant Rocks not far from where I live.
Yours looks so relaxed in amongst the trees -I trust you did not disturb it from its millions of years sleep :) Our elephants are different breeds - yours are granite and ours are limestone but they are obviously related :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
