This is the Missouri Ozarks answer to the Hollywood Bowl in California. The cows were taking a break from their recent performance. I would say they were "shooting the bull," but he was nowhere to be found. These old cows were ranked the top group in the Ozarks back in their hay day. They could milk an audience like none before or since. The Amooustics are perfect in the Ozarks with the natural echo system. You might say the "Hills are alive with the sound of Moosic." I could go on, but I will leave some for you to add. Just remember, the concert ain't over, til the fat cow moos."

Great capture, must have been quite a trick putting those round bales in that container, bigger trick might be getting them out.

Lol! Cute narrative to go with this one Tick. It must have been hot that day, and they were seeking a shady spot. I too wonder how tricky that is to put those hay bales inside that shelter, kind of like putting a round nail in a square hole. Cool capture, and I'm a fan of moo's.

Moo- moo- moosic -They look quite contended and ready for a combined chorus.

By the way have you forgotten how to converse with cows. Look up your bovine dictionary Tick.

LOL, funny narrative and comical capture...do they take requests?...I'm thinking they could do a mean version of that old song, Rawhide by Frankie Laine.

I find this image to be quite moo-ving! A good find, adding humor to a snowy day here.

Cowabunga! That is one seriously impressive bovine hay-ven! Cud you imagine? Admira-bull, ritzy cow-habitation. They must have the best field ac-cow-ntant around. Cow-moo-flaged by day, a-moo-sing themselves in the shade, and at night, after the chips are down, it becomes the perfect place to hit the hay.

Life is herd ... unless you live here!

I love it ! They are lucky cows (and that's no bull) to have ready rolled stuff in there for their convenience.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Puts you in the Moo-d for dinner and a Moo-vie. Those cows just laze around in the shade eating hay at their leisure. That's quite a neat trick stuffing those bales in there. Good picture Tick.

Ohhhhhh
Myyyyyyyyyyyyy
Gaaaaaaaaaaaawwwddd!!!!!!!

...and I don't use that term loosely (or moooosely).

The questions above, about how the farmer gets the hay under the quonset roof, tells me they're not rural folk. Most farmers up here in North Dakota have long fork attachments to their tractors, capable of lifting a couple tons. They use them to hoist the bales in as far as the forks can reach. Notice that there is no back wall on the structure... I believe that allows the farmer to place bales inside from the other side as well.

I have found that some people here at Caedes do not appreciate posts of length that accompany submissions. All they need do is read posts like the one you gave us here to understand how much they add. My wife was reading this one over my shoulder and was laughing her butt off, something she rarely does concerning my involvement with Caedes. For myself, I appreciate dialog that allows me to enjoy the images even more.
