My Grandson attended Lineman College in Denton, Texas and he graduated just before Christmas. He graduated from High School in May of last year. He is now in the work force and drawing what he calls "Big Boy" wages. This picture was taken the day of his graduation when he was competing in a Lineman Rodeo. The other photo is the Lineman Statue they have on campus. I blended the two to make this tribute for a man who knows what he wants in life and is willing to work to obtain it.

He is a lineman for the county. How did he do in the rodeo and did you get more photos of his events? Pretty neat, Tick.

So your Grandson is a lineman...well good for him and I applaud him for his motivation and success at a young age...ironically, my maternal Grandfather was a lineman with Bell Telephone as a young man so I can relate to this image...great manip and nice tribute.

That is a really nice tribute, I too can relate, my husband was a lineman in his early days for AT&T, went through many ice storms and such. Those fellows have quite a responsibility. Thanks for sharing this fine work.

A profession that needs not only physical exertion but also extreme care. Nice photo of your grandson on the job.

A real work of art and your grandson should be very proud of himself (and you)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

My youngest son is the same way, dedicated to the protection of America as a Navy Seabee and successful enough to be buying his first home, far sooner and much better than his father's. Congratulations to your grandson, obviously equally dedicated to keeping the lights on and the power flowing; every time we have a bad blizzard I think of the linemen and women far out on those poles, in the middle of nowhere, and I hope they're staying safe while they work to make sure everyone else stays safe and warm while they freeze.

Excellent work Tick, you must be very proud of him - this would be a fabulous shot to be framed and give to him as a gift.

I know when hurricane Irma passed through, and we were out of power for a few days, the linemen were truly praised and appreciated when they were working 16 hours days stringing wire back up to restore electricity. Good on your son! I wish him all the luck in his new profession.
