Live Oaks & Chicken Pen

This photo was taken at my son's farm in Florida when we were there last year for our grandson's wedding. The pen was there when he purchased the farm and I don't believe he has purchased any chickens. A couple of peacocks in the pen would add some color, but must admit the Live Oaks are enough. It reminds me of the Old South.

Those oak trees look impressive Tick. As for the chicken pen it could be converted into a meeting place for pensioners :)

A really good composition here Tick. Great detail and subject matter. Maybe some gators for that pen. Mama needs a new pair of shoes!!!

Rustic and charm all together in one - some ducks or geese would also be nice.

---A couple of peacocks in the pen would add some color---

I agree with you Tick because the knife would cut both sides: think most peacocks would envy live oaks (Quercus virginiana) in their habitat.

Sharp as a pen, sorry pin/tack, image Owd Fella.

I love oaks, some are so gnarly and grand to look at. This is a fine capture.

I like the trees in this well composed capture, and the rustic appeal is very nice. Maybe a pen for the man of the house when he misbehaves. :) tigz=^..^=

...with lots of elegant, swaying Spanish Moss. That stuff really enhances any scene. If he was going to get some birds in there, might I suggest white peacocks, if he can find them? I'm thinking the white of the birds would be a nice complement to the white and gray of the moss. Maybe a shallow pond would be a nice addition. There'd be little likelihood that it would freeze over in Florida.

These incredible trees do remind of the Old South...too bad Mama Pat wasn't around, she'd love this one...and may be able to furnish your son with a gator or two for those pens, as John suggested, lol...nice one, SOT.

The movement of the Spanish moss shows us superb action. Maybe one day he'll get some chickens. Marvelous composition
