I spotted this beauty while deer hunting this year. I was told by my hunting partner, that many generations of Miller's were raised in this house. You could almost hear voices riding on the wind that blew proudly over, around and through this structure. Sounds of children's laughter seemed to echo across the river bottom where this Old Homestead still stands. Thoughts of actually shooting a deer were erased by the gentle and loving breeze that lingered there this day.

A great mono effect..you do find that homes like this has that 'lived in' feel to them...a lot of memories locked in.

I love to think about the family histories that lived in these homes. The births, the deaths, the holidays, the planting, the harvests, the marriages, the reunions, life.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

B/W is perfect for this image, Tick. It offers the contrast and grittiness that enhances the view of this old, abandoned house. The three trees help frame the house and the lane crossing the lower portion of the image gives it depth. Bravo!
