Francis is a Show Me Mule, from the Show Me State of Missouri and is showing me the way to go (via ears). The owner told me it was a first cousin to Francis the Talking Mule, but instead of talking, it uses sign language (ears) to communicate.
Mule information from Wikipedia: A mule is the offspring of a male donkey (a jack) and a female horse (a mare). A horse has 64 chromosomes, and a donkey has 62. The mule ends up with 63. Mules can be either male or female, but, because of the odd number of chromosomes, they can't reproduce.
This is a triple threat mule. It is my post for today, my entry for the Animal contest and also a SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES submission. I realize it's only Thursday, but Francis was being stubborn about getting posted today. Look at Francis The Movie. Enjoy.

Tick, you have always been a triple threat! Thanks on the information concerning the makeup of a mule. I have a neighbor Jack and have always wondered about his chromosome count. Best wishes in the contest and great movie entree too!

With his ears he is showing the semaphore signal letter "J" and it means "I am going to send signals in semaphore. Use your cellphone on video to get the message :) Nice shot Tick.

In the past, in the navy there was the profession of a signalman. In certain conditions the (visual) communication between ships was done by waving defined patterns with small flags in his hands.
Think that Francis has copied this 'trick', not by hands however but by its ears.

lol, this mule is every bit the character that Francis was with his ears positioned this way...a terrific and comical portrayal of that movie...great addition to SNATM.
