The roof really isn't tin, but there is a cat and I can attest it was hot this day. This photo is based on the movie Cat On A Hot Tin Roof starring Paul Newman and Elizabeth. They were as good as it gets back in the day. The movie was based on the Pulitzer Prize winning play by Tennessee Williams. It also starred Burl Ives and it is difficult to believe he is the same man whose voice told the story of Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer in the TV Special so many years ago.

If you hadn't figured it out by now, this is my contribution to this week's SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES. No cats were harmed in the making of this photo.

I think this fits the theme very well even without the tin roof. The kitty looks uncertain of you aiming the black box at him or her. tigz=^..^=

Tick, I really liked this film. It was nominated for six Oscars back in 1958. Both Paul Newman (Best Actor) and Elizabeth Taylor (Best Actress) were up for awards. This was somewhat ironic in that neither was the first choice to play the roles they had. Marilyn Monroe, Lana Turner, and Grace Kelly all wanted the part that Elizabeth got and Elvis Presley, Robert Mitchum, Don Murray, Ben Gazzara, Montgomery Clift, and James Dean (who died just prior in a car accident before production began), were all up for the role Paul Newman landed. It has been said that the filmmaker Richard Brooks wanted Tony Franciosa and Ava Gardner. Personally, I think Paul and Elizabeth did just fine.

In my 'early' days..Myself and some friends, spotted some 'hooligans' menacing a young kitten trying to escape from a corrugated tin sheeting which was placed on a fire...Poor wee thing was terrified and trying to escape...
We soon put paid to those young thugs....('Nuff said about that!!!!)

I enjoyed that movie...Paul Newman was a great actor that could turn his hand to any kind of acting!

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), I know that you're a friend of animals/pets, so your 'statement' above is in fact a superfluous one, 😄 !
By viewing the look in the eyes of this cat, I suppose that it doesn't feel at ease, probably because of having fear to reach the ground floor. If you don't have a ladder, please call the fire brigade for some assistance, 😁.
Just kidding however. Being serious now: I like to say that is an excellent and apt entry for this SNATM-theme (🎥) Well chosen/done! (👍)

It doesn't matter that the roof is not hot "tin" but the photo suits the film title to a T. Good one Tick.
