Last week an old house burned down in my town and all that was left of the house was the chimney and some skeletal parts. This massive old tree seemed to be proclaiming its toughness as it held its arms in the air. If you look close, you can still see the smoke hovering over the scene. Luckily the house was empty, so there were no injuries.

It is my entry for this week's SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES. The movie Last Man Standing trailer can be viewed here. It is a rather strange movie, but some say I am too. Enjoy!

Very good shot and an apt title Tick. I see the smoke behind. In Germany when a house that is not occupied burns they call it jokingly a "warm demolition" (meaning that it was intentional but I don't suppose that was the case here.)

I don't think you are strange old mate....a bit funny and good at 'add-libbing'.. so, no stranger than the majority of Americans...lol..but I do like this movie feature..

This is really well done Tick - this old tree has seen many things so the fire wasn't about to scare it.

I guess I'm rather strange too as I remember seeing this movie...a little different for Bruce Willis from his usual roles...a shame about the old house but glad to hear there were no injuries and I'm glad this interesting old tree will live on...a great capture and creative depiction of this movie title...thanks, Tick!

Owd Fella Tick (OFT) thanks for providing us with a link to view the trailer of this intriguing American action film (1996), with a main role for Walter Bruce Willis.
To me it's a surprising find to compare the depicted old massive tree with the last man standing in the film.
Again two items (your contribution for the SNATM-theme (🎥) and an entry for the photojournalism gallery) for the price of one.
You're an excellent 'vendor' my friend, 👍 !

Excellent entry Tick. That old tree has some stories to tell no doubt. Glad it survived the fire.
