The movie A Clockwork Orange has become a cult classic. It was directed by Stanley Kubrick and was strange in my opinion. Maybe I just didn't understand it. I found it to be irreverent and only watched it once years ago. I apologize in advance if you find it offensive. You can read about it here and listen to music here.

I agree, it was a strange movie. Absolutely love your photo here and the "Clockwork Orange" tie in is excellent. Clarity, details and composition are strong and brilliant use of the title of the movie and your capture.

It was a dark, gloomy, rainy night when Alex and the droogs invaded that home and began the terrifying visit to the luckless couple. Nice job on the this composition and the tie-in with the movie - well done! BTW, I thought Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange and 2001: A Space Odyssey were excellent, thought provoking movies. I cannot see Malcolm McDowell without thinking of this movie. The monolith with the apes and the Hal 9000 talking with Dave are what memories are made of in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Also see your golfer teeing off ;)

Your editing is superb on the selective choice, and I do remember the movie, but never did see it. Very good match up for the theme challenge. tigz

Saw that film in a film course and really liked the music and could see all the Kubrick touches in the film. This suits that picture perfectly - nicely done.

You got the perfect photo to suit the title. The details are very sharp in b/w and the orange clock is very conspicuous.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), wonderful B&W photograph with very original and appropriate selective coloring for this SNATM-theme (🎥).
Together with your narrative with the links, it's a masterful post, 👍 !

Great photo but a really bad movie. I saw it when it came out and made the mistake of watching it again a couple of years ago and it didn't get any better.

A terrific, high-contrast shot, the B&W treatment really makes the image *pop*. Sad to see all the storefronts empty though, I'm sure these treasures will be torn down for a parking lot or something equally mundane. As for A Clockwork Orange, I found it to be rather inane and entirely too pleased with itself. That attitude may have been an intentional carryover from Burgess's novel though, which I never read. Kubrick was a quirky director, and like Coppola, Scorsese, Bertolucci, and others from the old guard, had his share of misfires as well as successes. I also believe the movie was rated X on first release, which was the kiss of death at the time.

I remember the movie (I could take it or leave it - Kubrick was never my favorite filmmaker), but what I REALLY notice here are all the now-vacant store spaces that were once-flourishing "Mom and Pop" businesses probably not all that long ago...Online shopping and the "Big Box Retailers" are fast turning "Main Street" into these! Sad...

Good presentation...Faved!
