While en route to a football game this fall I decided to check out Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge in Northwest Missouri. I became somewhat confused when trying to get directions on the internet because the name Loess Bluffs National Wildlife Refuge kept popping up. After some research I discovered the powers that be thought the name Squaw was offensive and changed it to Loess Bluff in 2017. Are we the only country that changes its history to suit the times? Just wondered.

Come to find out I was a little early to get any good shots of waterfowl. I only saw a few ducks. A wildlife official told me that spring is the best time to go there. I plan on going back. It wasn't a complete waste of time because I ran across some tree tunnels while driving around. Hope you enjoy this photo.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

It's amazing, if something doesn't suit people they just want to blot it out or change it to suit their feelings (history is history bad or good and the scripture didn't rewrite it but kept it for our learning). In the scripture it says to overcome evil with good. I know people who started out really nasty but overcame it by overcoming it with a change for the good and the feelings of people changed with it. I wasn't a nice person but I changed and people don't even remember my old days anymore. I do stand on a soap box don't I? I like your picture, Tick. I think it's a beauty.

When I look at this photo I feel that your trip was not in vain Tick. Lines of trees on both sides of the road creating a canopy of autumn colored leaves make this a beautiful photo. Good depth here too.

I love scenes like this, you did a superb job on your editing. I just don't get the changing of our history, it is what it is, bad or good! We should not rewrite it, we learn from it. tigz=^..^=
