Second to last post in the Nesting Series. I call this one "Proud Parent". As I was getting my last few pics of what was left of the Egret Rookery, this subject just stepped out her nest on to a lone branch and stood proudly with this pose gazing at me. After a bit of an absence, partly vacation but mostly tax season...busy for bookkeeping businesses... I'm glad to be back out here with at least 'some' regularity. I've missed everyone and am glad to have a little more time again.

These Egret shots have been a real treasure! The colors of the white bird against the gray trees is beautiful.

And this may be one of the best. I love the way the tree branches in the foreground form a sort of shell or blossom shape and the egret appears to be coming out of it -- like Boticelli's Venus!

Pure beauty! I love that color around her eye. The whole composition really sets her off very nicely among those tall trees. Yes, you could name her Venus per Donna's impression.
