We were running about 20 MPH in an Airboat when this Large Great Blue Heron leaped out of a Cypress Tree and Flew along side the Boat. By the time I got my camera up to take a shot it was a Little to the back of my right shoulder. Snapped off 3 in a Burst before it turned away into the trees. This was the Best of the Bunch. Maybe I should have posted it under Action Shots. LOL. Have A Great Day ! E J

What another great action capture. I like the way you are leading him in the photo, giving him plenty of room in front of him to fly.

Absolutely fabulistic. What a shot. It looks like the heron is just gliding around, having a good ol' time.

Good job capturing the sense of motion in this image EJ as well as the sense of movement as indicated by the blur of the trees in the background. I also noticed that the herons chest feathers seemed to be 'windblown'.
Very graceful bird and looks quite intent on wherever he might be going.
I might have experimented with cropping off the left side of the image where the sky is over-exposed and the leafless tree seems a bit out of place compared to the green firs.
Good thinking on your part to grab the camera with 'burst' on.
Well done.
Many thanks for sharing this with me :)

I am envious of your camera. Your location. You outdoors job. Your air boat. Your photography skills. Your editing skills. Your sense of timing. Outside of that I think you are a really nice guy EJ aka Frogz.

Gorgeous! But I'm jealous... I've been trying to get a photo like this for months and somehow I always manage to get just the tailfeathers as the heron wafts by me... ;-)) This is just plain superb.
