Black Bellied Whistling Duck relaxing in a Cypress Tree.
They also make their nest in trees. They Whistle instead of Quack. Very Beautiful and Unique Ducks. Hear Whistling Sound.
Have A Great Day ! E J
You said you had tons of them over there EJ so it's good to see one in their native environment. :o) Having heard their call b4 I found it very distracting.
Beautiful bird! I did click to hear it whistle, but apparently i have some missing plugings or something on my computer for that site, cause it didn't work. Lovely shot EJ!
Before you know it a duck will fly out of the screen and perform live for us. I believe I first met this species with the Duke of Earl. What a great photo with all the greenery and The Whistler in the treetops. Good work Frogz.
Another new one on me. ya know, dis ain't fair. You gots all the neat stuff on your side of the Miss River and I ain't got none of dat over here. great duck.

well, thats a first, a duck in a tree, and a second a whistling duck in a tree, lovely shot, i love the greens here too. i cant get the page to work of the duck whistling either, i think i have to download something, but im at work so i hadnt better! lol
It says I need more plugins to listen to the whistle. I will work on the later, but in the meantime, I will enjoy your shot of the duck. Another super duper picture, EJ.
Aah now I've seen relatives of these guys at bird reserves in London - I think they were Chinese whistling ducks. They're great aren't they - I just love the sound they make too. Terrific view of this one nestling in all that golden foliage Ed.
