My brother and I went on a winter walk...he instinctively climbed some trees, and I, instinctively whipped out the camera...it was a picture begging to be captured. I absolutely loved the area, and the day was perfect for photography, the overcast clouds outline most every detail. :)

I like the stark contrast between the white of the snow and sky and the dark of the tree and your brother. Your brother seems to be a part of the tree. I normally don't like people in nature photography but having him there seems rather fitting. Thanks for sharing this lovely scene.

From quiet homes and first beginning, Out to the undiscovered ends, There's nothing worth the wear of winning, But laughter and the love of friends.

I have to agree with your assessment as well as Allie's. I used to love to climb trees, and haven't in a while...might be nice to try it again...maybe not quite so high..but it is fun...a very nicely arranged and taken shot.

T'rific shot, all black and white with the added warmth of a tree-climbing brother! Reminds me when I used to love scooting up trees regardless of weather.

Cool shot...the shilhouetting makes your brother ambiguous...as if it could be anyone. Like GreenLass said, I'm not usually a fan of taking pictures of people, but in this case it works well. Good job.

Thanks for the comments on Canoe. To answer your question...yes, I do try to ride that stuff as much as possible.

Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. - Churchill
