Several miles into a hike in Steven's Canyon inside Mt. Rainier National Park we stopped to grab a quick bite to eat. This little guy came out to watch and squeak at us.

This is a very nice wildlife shot, assisted by the fact that he was willing to sit still for you. Too often I find myself muttering, "Dang!," because the critter moved off before I could get a decent shot. Nevertheless, you've got him focused quite well, along with the rock ledge he's on and the one behind him. Good color and definition (it must have been lightly overcast - a good time to shoot). If I had anything to suggest it would be to crop about 15% in from the bottom and right side so he's not directly in the center, and the rock above and behind him becomes a counterpoint -- soft, warm, and furry as opposed to hard, cold, and lichen-spotted. Okay, I just noticed something else; because most of the photo, other than the pika, is composed of muted tones, which can sometimes overpower the central subject (the pika), if you were to place a very strong black border on this shot (with a close-in thin white or light gray line), it would make the pika pop more and give you control over the background. Just a thought. Looking at your gallery, I see you've been to a few of the same places I have, and a bunch that I'm trying not to be jealous about.
