Interesting macro shot, and I really like it being B&W.
Very nicely done Almeda. What is that metal strip? Is it part of an old rifle or is an old military sword?

I'm guessing a bayonet? Somebody has an SKS ... I agree. I like the macro effect, and the shallow depth of field makes the image seem to fade out into a background. Black and white was a good choice for this image, as it prevents the colors like brass and red from distracting us from the image.

Some potential mayhem...agree about the B&W...somehow makes the image seem distant and detached...Thanks!

Come, my friends, 'tis not too late to seek a new world. Push off, and sitting well in order smite the sounding furrows; for my purpose holds to sail beyond the sunset, and the baths of all western stars, Until I die. Tennyson, "Ulysses"

how about a round of applause for this picture?
Very good picture - all praise and nothing to criticise.
