p.s. I wouldn't put this one away in the archives. Work it some more would be my suggestion. And not to take anything away from your creative efforts ... I do feel though that it needs a lil' more somethin' somethin'.
I did wonder (after finishing it) whether they were too high. I went back and forth and couldn't decide, so I just posted what I had. If I could get away with posting my own rework, though, I might try it.
I just saw this in the VB where it stood out for me I and was attracted to it enough to investigate further. I find it a delightfully elegant image and yet with a hint of humour because to me the florets resemble figures saying look at me as they dance - and indeed why not - they are well worth looking at. The reflections in the polished surface are nice also. I love cloisonne work and the enamel effect you have created is very realistic. It works perfectly on my desktop, with room for a my few icons and the taskbar without spoiling the look of the image.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . Snowflakes come to mind. (Which, I guess could be further inspiration? Now that, would be some killer metal work.)
Like the individual Xaos flames, and more so of the two ... middle and that of the left one.
Renders look very clean and the colour palettes are appealing.
Caveats?
Too much negative space. Hard to distinguish any relationship between the three. Rhythm, balance ... are thrown off in my humble opinion.
Something like.. this, works better to my eyes.
That said..
It is a nice piece, Hannah. So..
