I don't know why, but anytime a picture of a flower isn't directly center, I am obligated to let you know that you did a wonderful job. I love how the red is the focus of the entire picture. There are no distractions, as though the flower is saying "Here I am." You did a wonderful job. Don't be afraid to experiment though. Maybe, make it a little daker, then the closer you get to the flower the more "awake" it is?
