I love red in a winter landscape. And I love ice in the sunlight. Every winter I want to do a picture with ice, but until now I haven't been able to get the effect I was looking for. This time I think it finally turned out right. This is my digital artwork, not a photograph.

This is awesome...so realistic! You did a fabulous job on the ice-encased berries and I agree, red looks marvelous in winter...a fave for me.

In one of my previous lives, I was a food broker and Northland Cranberries was one of my clients. They would spray water on their cranberries before a drop in temperatures and a frost was on the way. They would send out the signal and people would rush out to the fields to perform this task. And, by en-capsulizing the berries with water, The icy covering became a guarding frozen shell surrounding the berries and thus they saved their fields. Your picture, so well done, has brought back that memory of the cranberry fields of Wisconsin in the winter.

Such a delight to look at and refreshingly cooling for those of us in my part of the world :)

This is incredibly realistic, what wonders nature provides for us. Especially like the sharp colors and background on this, wonderful capture!

So artistic and well done Hannah. I thought it was a photograph until I read your explanation.
I enjoyed Casechaser's info as well.
Super contest entry that will do well.
