This second picture is looking towards the City of Calgary, Alberta, which is some 50 miles away. Deadmans Flats is a place caught between the tranquility of nature and the boom of development. While you sit by the river and notice everything you see is gorgeous and unspoiled, your ears are assaulted by sound pollution coming from the nearby Trans Canada Highway. Amongst the vehicular noise you can also hear construction on a condominium project which is footsteps away, along with the occasional helicopter on a sightseeing trip from nearby Canmore. With all the development in the area this place will not remain as it was on this day - April 8, 2007

Andre, this is such a beautiful capture, although I'm glad not to be hearing the noise pollution that accompanies it. Great colour in the sky and water and the reflections are stunning. Good work!

Due to the recent slow down of the site, my comments and thank you's have been few as it was very time-consuming...will catch up ASAP...meanwhile, a group thank you to all and keep up the great work everyone.

What a gorgeous place. It's striking and the transparencies and colours of the water are splendid. Too bad about this development thing - it makes me sad.
