This is the hotel in Jerome, Arizona. During the 'gold' days, one can just imagine it was standing room only. It's sits proudly on the rugged hilltop just waiting for another 'entrance'. Thanks for always taking the time to peek at my gallery. I appreciate you all. Thanks, Anita

Greatpicture. It looks like it was a expensive hotel on that time it was "alive". Great work.

Anita, this is a wonderfully taken photo of a very fascinating place. The history is oozing here! Wouldn't it be grand to travel back in time and see all the people there?! You captured the surrounds beautifully, my friend! - Patty

A great capture of this hotel Anita ... it looks so grand sitting on top of that hill surrounded by all that beautiful landscape. Thank you for sharing the history also. Very nicely done.

"Hotel Jerome" should be renamed "Spookville". You must be a real adventurer to find this place, Anita. Is this place as desolate as it looks? You mean to tell me it's 150 years old? Are there any signs of humanity nearby? And, finally, Where's the parking lot? Very interesting....Neil

Feels a bit spooky indeed but I love the nostalgic feeling about this picture. Lost grandeur waiting to come alive again. Great shot.

Quite a shot, Anita! I wonder if there are any ghosts. Even the surroundings look desolate. Thanks for showing this to us. I am always interested in things of the past.

I've been there too, a long time ago, and as I remember it's very hard to get to..way up on Mt. Cleopatra (I kid you not) with an awful road...if you think this building is spooky you should see some of the rest of it!!! I'd love to do a series of that place...I've heard that it's become quite the place for artists to set up their easels..Maybe..someday I'll get back there. It's worth the effort to dig out the history..quite the fascinating story of an old copper mine...and this is a very nice pic of it, Anita...you've done it more than justice. Looks like they might have done some restoration work on it since I was there... :)PJ

Hello Anita, thanks so much for your kind words on "water's own art", I really appreciate it!
I really like this shot of yours, I love these old buildings and this one looks like it has grown there instead of build(lol), like the colours too, well done!
Have a nice day

I would love to go exploring here Anita but I imagine they have it locked up tight. It still looks so beautiful and grand sitting on that hill. Maybe one day someone will reopen her.

Now That calls exploration...I'd see that with first instincts to venture over. I love the view you chose to catch. The colors seem to jusify the hotel...dead, yet somehow breathing (reminds me of 'Hotel California', haha).

What an impressive piece of architecture.. I can just imagine it being a busy retreat, people rushing in and out, horse carts pulling in to drop off and pick up people.. kids playing in the big well kept gardens.. Well done on a vert nice presentation, Anita..

Learning more history..checked out some sites on Jerome. This image is quite interesting - is this hotel still used? The photo is well composed with good details. The hotels structure is fun to see, with its many windows and southwestern appearance. I'm sure it was a busy place at one time. That's a big hill behind it and the scenery is lovely.I appreciate this bit of Arizona history..thanks Anita :))
