So, as we were driving from the Mexican food restaurant in New Mexico into Colorado, this was my greeting and it took my breath away. We'll be in Colorado for the next few posts so I hope you enjoy them. As always, thanks for coming by to take a peek. Anita

One of the things I did love about living in the West were the wide open skies and how you could seem to see for miles and miles. This stunner of a sky is lit by the clouds drifting around it, and the contrast is stark...a lovely shade of blue it is..As to the foreground formation...since I now live in the woods... it's always interesting to me to be reminded of how stark and dry the West is and how dramatic the landscape is in its presentation. The different stratas are so clear, and yet you can see where some of it has crumbled over time and is eroding back down to ground level. I can't tell exactly how big this is on the computer I'm on right now because I can't blow this up to a decent size, but it looks like it's fairly large judging from the size of the greenery that surrounds the bottom. If they're full-sized trees, this is a colossus...perhaps they're only shrubs, but they certainly serve to accent the sand stone colors. The compostion is nicely done with just the right amount of sky and earth, and your angle is very interesting in the way you've placed the formation on almost a diagonal in this most pleasing post. Thanks :)PJ

Lovely, Anita. The terrain is very dramatic. Did you intensify the cyan in this shot or was the bluish tinge the result of the time of day?

The name ChuPat is derived from my nickname Chuck and my wife of 34 years name Patti. Her photography will appear on Caedes as well from time to time. I consider myself an advanced amature not anyway close to being a professional. I have just taken photography more seriously since I have switched to digital. My profession has always been associated with pohtography in one way or another. Any criticism I receive will be well appreciated.
